    GoGirls ICT Initiative is a Juba, South Sudan-based non-profit initiative founded by a group of dedicated young women in the fields of Computer Science, Information Systems, ICT4D Innovation, hacktivism, and peace-building. GoGirls ICT’s focus is on mentorship in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) related topics leveraging more on Open Source resources to create an Open Culture in South Sudan. Founded in 2015, the Organization was finally registered as an independent Non-Governmental Organization in 2019.The organization is part of the Global Innovation Gathering and Access to Skills and Knowledge network #ASKnet, while its founders have been featured on Eskills4girls’ The Storytellers: Experiences around the Globe.

    Under Ministerial Order No. (2) 2024, for forming a Steering Committee for establishing the Research and Development Centre Framework under the legal framework of laws, regulations, or statutes pertaining to research and development institutions in South Sudan for Six Months (May 2024 - November 2024).- Setting the strategic direction and objectives of the R&D center.- Ensuring alignment of the R&D activities with MoHEST goals and priorities.- Establish partnerships and collaborations with relevant stakeholders.- It shall review and recommend allocating resources for approved research endeavors, including funding and personnel.- Define the Research Development Centre's mission and vision, outlining its purpose, goals, and intended impact on research and development within the country.- Develop comprehensive guidelines and policies to regulate and govern the center's activities.- Identify and propose additional sources of funding beyond the Ministry-provided budget to sustain the Research Development Centre's operations and initiatives.- Propose a governance structure for the research development center, including an organigram outlining each entity's key roles, functions, and responsibilities within the center. This structure should ensure efficient decision-making, accountability, and collaboration among stakeholders.- The committee's primary objective is to foster innovation, promote research excellence, and facilitate the development of impactful solutions per the MoHEST's mission, vision, and strategic objectives. The Steering Committee's goal is to define clear objectives, establish a robust governance framework, propose funding mechanisms, and address any other pertinent matters to ensure the successful launch and operation of the center.

    The #UniPod is a unique initiative located at the University of Juba, South Sudan—one of the ten #UniPod established under a UNDP initiative for African universities in collaboration with UNDP South Sudan. The rationale for placing the #UniPod within a university rather than as a stand-alone entity is that it would thus link to the corpus of research and knowledge that is already in place in the university, through its faculty, who are likely to be experts in several technical fields.As a member, my utmost priority is to safeguard the welfare of the Unipod by making informed choices on its behalf. I bring on board my skills in project management and building relevant strategies, advocating for the inclusion of women and girls in tech innovation, building collaborations with communities, providing mentorship, and making sound decisions.
