    For approximately two years I worked at Copely Developments in the 2nd Operations department. Some of my tasks as an Assembly Worker consisted of assembling and packing hose reels, packing and adding fittings to PVC strip curtains, and attaching fittings to coils. Time management was a key skill necessary for this job as certain tasks needed to be completed in certain timeframes. I also learned a few new skills such as using a palette truck and ways to efficiently pack material on a palette. Due to working limited hours because of college, I had to adapt to new roles often and this will definitely be a transferrable skill in my future work life.

    During my 2 weeks participating in the Springpod Finance Virtual Work Experience, I was able to get an insight into the many different roles that I am able to pursue in the Finance industry. Also, I completed tasks that made sure that the knowledge I learned was secure. Overall, it has helped me as it gave me more direction on what kind of roles I would want to pursue in the industry.

    In the summer of 2021, I was able to take part in the Man Group Virtual Work Experience. Although it was only for a day, I found this very enjoyable due to my future interest in working for a top hedge fund. The day comprised of professionals from each department explaining their roles to us and what I found particularly useful, is that we were able to have a personable Q&A session with each of the professionals where I could ask them questions that I had about their roles and tasks within the firm.

    I partook in a one-week virtual work experience with St James' Place to learn more about wealth management. This was helpful as professionals from the various departments in the firm elaborated on their roles and their day-to-day tasks in the company. One new fact I learned was that the financial advisors within the company work on a self-employed basis which was fascinating to me.
