UKGI is the government’s centre of excellence in corporate governance and corporate finance. We work closely with both the private and public sectors, advising and interacting with ministers, Parliament and Whitehall departments on some of government’s most interesting and complex commercial tasks.Key roles:-Head of Appointment and Remuneration Team: Steering UKGI’s approach to appointing high quality non-executives to a range of government owned companies. Influencing teams across the organisation and working closely with departmental stakeholders, senior Board members, Number 10 and external search firms to deliver results.Developing internal policy on remuneration and supporting shareholder non-executives to scrutinise company remuneration proposals. -Senior member of Shareholder teams focused on good governance of U.K. Export Finance and Defence Equipment & Support, focusing on governance, risk management, culture and business/operating plans. -Chair of Corporate Governance Group: This is a monthly forum attended by c.40-50 colleagues that focuses on sharing excellence, and setting the tone for our Corporate Governance practice. -Established and lead our graduate scheme recruiting one grad every six months or so. Previous roles:-AWE transition team: preparing for its re-integration into public sector setting out initiatives board roles, responsibilities and terms of reference.

LSJS is a complex communal charity (est.1856) comprising of 3 distinct divisions. 1) An Ofsted accredited initial teacher training programme. 2) An accredited degree provider. 3) A lifelong learning provider. LSJS also runs a ‘work hub’ providing rental space to 4 other organisations. It has an annual budget of £1.3 million.I was recruited on a 6 month contract to provide cover whilst the charity was between CEOs. During my tenure, I oversaw the annual audit, a renewed fundraising effort (including fundraising event) and an 'Outstanding' rating by Ofsted for the Teacher Training Programme. - Overall responsibility for the strategy and operational management - Responsible for ongoing viability of the charity, setting and monitoring the Budget and monthly P&L. - Oversaw a core staff of 12 and a team of 40+ consultants- Line managed the Senior Management Team consisting of the Dean, Director of Academic Studies and the Head of Operations. - Fundraising Management: Responsible for maintaining relationships with existing donors and grant bodies.

I was the key professional managing the United Synagogues flagship ‘Community Development Fund’. Duties included; supporting applicant communities develop ideas and pitches, conducting due diligence on all applicant communities, establishing KPIs, and drafting Memorandums of Agreements. Within this role I was one of the key professionals working on the ‘Community of Potential’ project to establish new communities in areas of Jewish migration. (This is a major strategic area of focus for the organisation). • Developed the strategy and secured substantisial funding to initiate 2 'Community of Potential Projects' to maximise this potential.

• Part of the Senior Management team (2009-2013) of this holiday scheme, Tuesday and Sunday club for children aged 5-18 with special needs (ranging from moderate to severe). • I had to plan and run a wide range of creative activities including arts and crafts, sensory activities, drama and cooking. Over the years, I radically changed the way the activities were run, tailoring them to the members attending and increasing the training for staff to help them assist their members.
