I set up the internal Audit Department from scratch did recruitment and developed audit programs planned and executed the audit of the telecommunication business. My work did involve fraud investigations as well in a highly fraud prone environment. Reviewed and revamped systems, policies and procedures ensuring that high risk areas received adequate attention.Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to:• Risk assessment for which notable highlights of my career were seeking a reduction of physical stocks of scratch cards valued at $40 Million in favor of electronic voucher stock system which was less prone to stock outage and also cost effective in terms of warehouse costs.• Performed gap analysis of the company’s functional systems; these were systems like the billing system, Point of Sale system, Electronic purchasing order system etc.• Tested the effectiveness and efficiency of controls for reconciling traffic generated by the Mobile Switching Centre popularly known as Switch in the Telecom Industry and the revenue reported by the Billing system• Reviewed the cash and banking procedures, another high risk area for the company whose 90% of the business is prepaid sales and therefore cash rich.
