Experience

    • Grant Administrator and M&E Lead
      • Jul 2023 - Present

My duties and responsibilities involve overseeing the administration of grants, monitoring and evaluating projects, managing financial aspects, reporting to partners, and facilitating communication between partners and projects including the USAID funded Community-led Monitoring (CLM) program, the CDC funded Sungani Bana Initiative program and the CDC funded Ophaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) program.Community-led monitoring (CLM):CLM is a technique initiated and implemented by local community-based organizations and other civil society groups, networks of key populations (KP), people living with HIV (PLHIV), and other affected groups or other community entities that gathers quantitative and qualitative data about HIV services. The focus is on getting input from recipients of HIV services, especially key populations and underserved groups, in a routine and systematic manner that will translate into action and change.Ophaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC):OVC focuses on improving the overall well-being, healthcare, and living conditions of vulnerable children and adolescents who are either infected or affected by HIV. The project also seeks to enhance the capacity of caregivers or guardians to provide adequate care and support to these children.Sungani Bana Initiative (SBI):SBI aims to support children and adolescents living with HIV in Eastern, Southern, Lusaka, and Western Provinces. The goal of the initiative is to enhance the health outcomes of these individuals and achieve viral load suppression by ensuring that they stay on ART. DAPP collaborates with the Ministry of Health in these provinces to provide technical assistance and support.

    • Strategic Information /M&E Officer
      • Jun 2020 - Jun 2023

Total Control of the Epidemic (TCE):DAPP initiated the project in 2006 in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The project's main goal is to empower individuals at risk of HIV/AIDS to actively take care of their health, make informed decisions to reduce their vulnerability to the virus, and adhere to recommended HIV and other treatments as advised by healthcare professionals. The project specifically focuses on increasing the number of people living with HIV who are aware of their HIV status, receiving appropriate treatment, and achieving viral suppression. This objective aligns with the UNAIDS framework known as 95-95-95. According to this framework, the aim is for 95% of people living with HIV to know their status, 95% of those aware of their positive status to be on treatment, and 95% of people on treatment to achieve suppressed viral loads by the year 2030. DAPP's project contributes to the global effort to reach these targets.Working on TCE, my responsibilities included team building and coordination, partnerships and stakeholder engagement, reporting and feedback, M&E framework and planning, data collection and analysis, technical support and evaluations, data management and quality assurance, innovation and visualization, as well as career mentorship and coaching. My role was crucial in ensuring the smooth implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities, facilitating data-driven decision-making, and building the capacity of project staff and partners.

USAID's Supporting an AIDS-Free Era (USAID-SAFE):The USAID SAFE program was a significant investment of $142 million aimed at reducing HIV mortality, morbidity, and transmission, as well as improving nutrition outcomes and integrating family planning in three provinces of Zambia: Central, Copperbelt, and North-Western. The program worked in close collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Zambia, with the shared vision of achieving an AIDS-free nation by 2030. USAID SAFE was the largest treatment service delivery program for USAID in Zambia, providing vital services to over 300,000 individuals.Through partnerships with government entities, private sector organizations, and civil society institutions at various levels, USAID SAFE focused on establishing new service delivery systems, strengthening existing platforms, and enhancing the government's capacity to manage USAID assistance activities. The program supported a network of 267 public health facilities and 31 private facilities across the targeted provinces. Notably, USAID SAFE demonstrated success in targeting high-risk individuals by providing testing services. The highlight of my job was the effective coordination and management of ART (Antiretroviral Therapy) related services. This involved coordinating facility and community staff, ensuring accurate documentation of HIV-related forms and registers, performing daily data entry into the Electronic Health Record System, and monitoring patient follow-up to minimize attrition
