Controlled the reagent addition and monitored the efficiency of the thickeners.Under this section I carried out a project involving “The design of a pre- leach thickener ". Reagent PlantI was responsible for receiving the chemical reagents inventory, preparation of reagent solutions and ensuring that the reagent was continuously pumped at the required rate and concentration. Leaching PlantMonitoring the process and controlling the parameters to ensure optimum operation. Washing PlantI was responsible for monitoring the operations of the CCD's and reporting of any defects in both the process and equipment. Solvent Extraction PlantI was familiarised with the overall operations. This equipped me with a full understanding of the concentration process that occurs during solvent extraction. Lime PlantI was responsible for materials handling, storage and optimisation of ball mill operations. Electrowinning TankhouseI was responsible for co-ordinating, monitoring and supervising operations of the process plant to improve performance and throughput.During this period I have completed projects on:- Investigating the parameters affecting copper cathode quality.- Dip tank optimization to improve copper cathode washing Nchanga SmelterI undertook a familiarization training program for the smelter operations.
