Strike Resources limited has iron ore projects in Australia and southern Peru, South America. William is a founding director of Strike and was responsible for the commercial negotiations surrounding the project acquisition and subsequent joint venture operations. By 2008 Strike Resources reached a market capitalisation of $300 million and had successfully raised approximately $100 million in funding.Since 2006 William has spent considerable time in Peru; in 2013 as Managing Director of Strike he relocated to Lima, Peru with his family for 18 months to manage the development of the project. In 2014 William returned to Perth and focussed on developing new battery minerals projects (which were subsequently spun out into Lithium Energy Limited (ASX:LEL) and the Paulsens East Iron Ore Project which successfully delivered its first shipment of high grade iron ore to customers in China in 2022.

William was responsible for developing and implementing a major international investment expansion program for TCNZ (New Zealand’s largest company) in South East Asia. TCNZ’s objective at the time was to expand operations in the high growth regions of SE Asia through joint venture infrastructure investment. William spent considerable time in SE Asia (Particularly India, Thailand and Malaysia) developing relationships with industry players in these countries and forming joint venture companies to bid for major (> $300 million) telecom infrastructure projects. Contracts were won in India, but a change of corporate strategy in 1997 resulted in the shutdown of Asian operations.William was then tasked with reviewing technology business development opportunities in New Zealand and Australia, including the establishment of a technology venture capital fund.
