    Field Engineer contracted to Hewlett Packard working the Bank of America break/fix project. My area covered Western Illinois and Eastern Missouri with 73 banking centers and several hundred work from home employees. My responsibility was to diagnose and repair any and all problems with the equipment from servers to card scanners and everything in between. I was also responsible for reimaging machines and upgrading hardware and software. The banking centers were internal LAN’s running to a Merlin server which then connected to the bank’s internet based WAN. Home users are connected directly to the WAN via secured connections

    The IT portion of my job was to maintain a network which consisted of two servers and 20 workstations (including some Mac’s). My responsibility was to handle any and all issues with this network and to escalate to outside vendors when necessary. Costing, purchasing and installing also fell under my direction.

    Identify and render safe any and all explosive devices in a given area of operation. A great deal of electronic and mechanical operation theory and practice was part of this job as this is how triggering devices work. This job also required self-motivation, self-confidence and a belief that there is always a solution to a problem. This principle has served me well as a basis in all fields.
