    After I was hired by Siemens Limited., China, I mainly supported the joint venture affairs for the Siemens Division Power Transmission & Distribution (PTD). Through the commen efforts of a working group within PTD, we have identified a new location for setting up a second JV for the manufacturing of vacuum interrupters.

    I have started my work in this large state-owned factory after graduation and worked there mainly in the information office. The main tasks of the information office are collecting and editing technical information from magazines and catalogues. There was a cooperative project between Baoguang and Siemens, Germany at that time period, and for the implementation of the imported manufacturing license of Siemens type of vacuum interrupters, I had independently translated and interpreted for more than 10 years during the whole process (project preparation, negotiation, technical training in Germany, documents translation, Joint Venture set-up and start-up running and etc.) . My last job there was assistant to General Management in the JV company. The Joint Venture with Siemens was unfortunately terminated in early 1996 and I had to leave Baoguang and join Siemens due to my personnel development requirements.
