Helderberg Eco-Rangers is an environmental awareness and education group where we aim to connect children and their families to natural environment around them. The group meets weekly to discuss and share interesting topics connected with nature and our environment, We aim to guide and educate children on the wonders of nature. We feel it is essential for children to be introduced to and spend time in nature. If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, then let us allow them to love the earth before we ask them to save it. Today's generation of children is the first to grow up spending more indoor time than time in nature and the outdoors. Their plugged-in lives are largely devoid of exploring the natural world and we are just beginning to understand the ramifications of their virtual world. There are costs to the health of our children: attention difficulties, hyperactivity, childhood obesity, diminished use of senses, disconnect from things that are real. Additionally, if children are detached from nature, how will they learn about, understand, and value nature? How will the next generation care about the land and be stewards of its resources? We hope to plant seeds so as to connect the children with their natural environment. In turn we hope children who have been members with us will continue to visit places in nature and thus grow stronger in themselves and in time form a bond with the natural world around them so as to protect and care for all living things. It is our aim to guide children to become the future stewards for our planet and all life upon it.

As Graphic design consultant I worked as a consultant as well as Graphic Designer and head presentationist. Main duties included communicating with business consultants as well as companies and organisations and carrying out the necessary graphic design and presentation work. I would work closely with the in-house consultants assisting them with Graphics projects as well as layout for briefs, presentations etc. On a day to day basis this role required work to be carried out effectively, efficiently and under pressure. Briefs and final documents required formatting and lying out. This meant working closely with the management consultants or heads of specific projects. In many cases it was part of my role to guide and teach business consultants how to use MS word and MS PowerPoint. Marketing, education and promotion are examples of the goals behind the visual communication and graphics documents created.
