SFER is a non-profit education start-up located in Manhattan, New York whose mission to develop college students into grassroots activists who organize around issues of educational justice in their communities. As a Regional Program Director, my primary responsibility was to manage 10 state captains who worked outside of our target states as they organize students in their region to support education reform policy agendas that align with the mission of our national organization. I did this through building relationships with donors, partner organizations, political leaders, chapter leaders and students and by collaborating with outside organizations and individuals whose vision & mission were similar to ours. All while engaging community leaders, community members, students and stakeholders and using the critical insight and feedback to guide the work of the students I advised.
