      Facing Change: Documenting Detroit is an organization that focuses on capturing stories surrounding social and economical issues within the city of Detroit. I was one of 16 Fellows in the program. I shot and produced a documentary photo series and short video titled, 'Rebirth of LaTanya' which focuses on a woman's journey out of the Detroit homeless community into her new home. My work was presented at Photoville in Dumbo, Brooklyn as well as Dlectricity in Detroit. During this time I also had photographs of mine published in the Detroit Free Press.

      I was sent on three to four assignments daily varying from breaking news, press conferences, sports, cuisine, formal portraits, real estate and long term photo stories. At every assignment, I shot video and my photo assignments were submitted quickly for deadline with detailed captions. I created episode segments for the newspaper’s television show, ‘-30-’ aired every Thursday night. As well as being a visual journalist for the newspaper, I created and ran The Press of Atlantic City’s Instagram account, @ThePressofAC. I helped with photo layouts and page design for print and was given The Press’ monthly ‘Crowd Pleaser Award’ five times within the span of a year.
