Responsible for the HR function of CHORI, the research unit of Children's Hospital Oakland. Funding cuts forced a reduction in staff and I focused on supporting the senior scientists as they cut staff or closed labs. In addition to providing typical HR services to the staff, I created documentation to support classifying the remaining individuals as exempt employees, contractors, collaborators, students or interns and bringing CHORI into compliance with federal and state regulations.
