The Manufacturer is a monthly magazine that provides business and operations strategy for executives in manufacturing. I joined while the publication was still in start-up phase. Created and developed display sales strategy that propelled display billings from $30,000 per issue to $100,000 per issue in a marketplace in which competitors were declining. Sold successfully against magazines with circulations of three to five times ours.

Supply Chain Management Review is a semi-monthly publication designed for executives charged with developing and implementing their organizations’ supply-chain strategies. Modeled off Harvard Business Review, SCMR's subject matter is highly theoretical and technology-oriented. Advertising revenues grew to over $1MM in 2001. Circulation revenues average $600M per year. Developed a website that featured daily news updates and paid vendor-supplied case studies as well as advertising banners and buttons. Launched a monthly e-mail newsletter consisting of solutions-oriented content.

Managed the advertising sales effort of one of Reed’s largest publications (over $20MM in revenue) and one of the premier technology magazines in the country. Managed a sales staff of 12 outside and 8 inside salespeople. Publication achieved record revenue and profit in 1998. Directed marketing efforts: trade show participation, marketing and sales tools, advertising campaign, sales meetings, sales contests. Directed the development of Design News’ website. Created vision and strategy for website effort and directed the implementation of that strategy, which included providing daily technology news, a series of e-mail newsletters and the development of tools for engineers on the site.
