ASES is the oldest and largest academic society at the University of Glasgow having 300+ members every year with a strong emphasis on employability, career training, and social networking. Through our employability and networking events, we aim to help our students to broaden their perspectives in future career opportunities, meet ASBS alumni and get involved in graduate training programmes such as PSP. Our goal is to grow society membership and member engagement with the events, increase brand recognition on campus and tighten our partnerships with the Adam Smith Business School as well as acquire new sponsors in the greater business community. During my time in ASES, my main duties and responsibilities include:- Working closely with the president and marketing assistant towards marketing and PR management on social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat & LinkedIn, ensuring that all sponsor information and event details are up-to-date; This proactive use of social media allowed us to secure the position of being the biggest society not only within Adam Smith Business School College but also within all University of Glasgow colleges, increasing student engagement with more than 300 new active members from vast range of disciplines.- Being a part of our annual signature event - ASES & GUCS Business Case Competition, where I had an opportunity to volunteer as the first point of support for contestants and guests. This helped me to improve my networking and communications skills, besides being given a chance to meet so many inspiring professionals outside their work environment. - As a head of marketing, I had to be involved in planning and coordinating promotional material for the vast majority of ASES organized events.

For a long time, I had great opportunity to be one of the leaders in Organisation Snowball. Through the development of leadership skills, Operation Snowball is a youth and adult partnership, providing awareness and prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, while encouraging healthy decision-making in an active community of caring. It was a real pleasure to lead and teach pear students about alcohol and drug abuse consequences. This place and these people became my second home and though me crucial life lessons which today brought me there, where I stand. During my time there, my duties were:• To provide educational lectures for peer students providing awareness and prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, while encouraging healthy decision-making in an active community of caring. • To build a team of peer students and to help them to develop life skills such as decision-making, enhancing self-esteem, problem-solving, communicating, refusal skills, etc.• Serve as a peer support while helping them to differentiate between attitudes, feelings, and facts on a variety of topics relevant to teens and make students question different perceptions.• To promote a greater understanding among teens from various racial, social, and ethnic groups, encourage diversity benefits.• Coordinate the daily schedule and report any issues to the coordinator.• Organize and attend regular team meetings.
