    Metlifecare Limited was a publicly listed company on the New Zealand Stock Exchange. The company has total assets of approximately $2 billion and net assets of approximately $850m. During 2011, 2012 and 2013 Metlifecare had significant capital activity which included the following:In November 2011 Metlifecare completed the placement and sell-down of $100m shares. The company raised $40m in new capital and facilitated the sell-down of $60m shares for the majority shareholder. This resulted in a broadening of the shareholder base and the majority shareholder moving from 83% to 50%. On 23 July 2012 Metlifecare completed the merger of two businesses with combined net assets of approximately $160m. The merger increased the company’s size by a third and also resulted in the majority shareholder moving from 50% to 43% ownership of the company.In November 2013 the majority shareholder sold 100% of its shares to Infratil and The New Zealand Superannuation Fund.Currently the company had in excess of 1000 employees and 4000 shareholders. A Capital Raising that was part of the CRP was completed on 24 August 2010 and resulted in the company exiting moratorium. The strategy developed as part of the CRP and Capital Raising focused on growing the two core parts of the business - Finance and Life Insurance.
