    I am now very happy to be back with the Renewable Energy Generation (REG) team in a part time (2.5 days/week) project engineering role, looking after Sydney Water's cogeneration and hydro assets.Developing new and exciting projects including new REG cogeneration assets, solar generation, the North Head biosolids upgrade, and the Malabar biomethane project which involves cleaning, conditioning and delivery of biogas from Sydney Water into the Jemena natural gas supply grid.

    I retired after 30 years as a full time employee of Sydney Water in September 2015. After retirement, I was kindly invited to join the the Renewable Energy Generation team under an agency hire arrangement, looking after and developing projects for Sydney Water's cogeneration and hydro assets.Sydney Water has 11 cogeneration engines up to 1.4 MW each, and 3 hydro plants up to 4.0 MW each, operating across multiple sites. The cogen engines recover biogas energy from our treatment plants and convert it into heat for sludge digestion and electricity to help Sydney Water save money from avoided electricity costs. The hydros do the same thing by recovering kinetic energy from our water and sewage effluent streams. We are also helping our planet by reducing greenhouse gas emissions necessary to produce electricity that we no longer need to get from the supply grid.

    Initially in Sydney Water's Electrical Installation group where I had a fantastic exposure across a whole range of Sydney Water assets, including construction and commissioning of pumping stations, and both potable water treatment and waste water treatment plants. Managed major plant upgrades at Sydney's coastal waste water treatment plants since 1990.
