As Road Reps, we had the privilege of representing some of the best garden and gift products on the market. Our clients: nurseries, gift stores, hardware stores, mainly Mom and Pop independent stores, were our friends. We exhibited at the San Francisco International Gift Fair where we had as many as twelve booths. (We were a lot younger then.)

    • Sales Account Executive
      • 1986 - 1990
      • San Francisco

As part of the sales process, I went through all of Learning International's sales, customer service, and management training programs as a student. Then I taught many of the programs, which greatly enabled me to be successful selling their extensive training package to the top ranking San Francisco based corporations. After the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989, I no longer wanted to work in downtown San Francisco. More importantly, I realized the sales, management and customer service training I learned at my last two corporate jobs gave me all the skills I needed to start my own business. I applied for an equity line, quit my job, created my wholesale rep business and never looked back.

    • Key Account Executive
      • 1982 - 1986
      • San Francisco

As an Account Executive at Decker, I learned so much about sales and it proved to be an exciting and lucrative job for me. I worked with high level executives who recognized the need to hone their own presentation skills and those of their employees. I sold and co-trained Decker's two day training and one-on-one consultations. While at Decker, I joined the National Speakers Association and served on the Board of Directions for their Northern California chapter as Program Chairman, booking speakers and being the mistress of ceremonies for their monthly chapter meetings. Those were fun days!

  • 3M Company

    • Sales Representative

As my entry into Corporate America, I worked for the 3M Business Products Division in Downtown Chicago and then in the San Francisco Bay Area. I sold business equipment and supplies to corporations through public presentations I made to executives throughout Corporate America, which changed my life and opened new doors for my profession.
