Individual research project in the Hamlyn Centre: Sim-to-real automatic tool grasping in robotic-assisted radio-guidance surgery•Automated gamma probe grasping task using da Vinci Robot System's Patient Side Manipulators (PSM).•Created a ROS-based simulation environment with the Asynchronous Multi-Body Framework (AMBF) on Linux.•Acquired observational data via Geomagic Touch for model training through imitation learning (IL).•Leveraged deep learning techniques, including ResNet, for image feature extraction and representation.•Designed, implemented, and tested the AMBF-IL Toolkit for use in both simulation and the da Vinci Robot System.

•Assisted in reformulating the single diode model of photovoltaic cells (PV) using the Lambert W function.•Developed and validated a MATLAB Simulink model using actual photovoltaic panels.•Derived a simplified formula for calculating the maximum power point (MPP) of a photovoltaic string at different irradiance levels without the need for detailed modeling.•Conducted simulations of PV cells connected in series and analyzed their I-V and P-V characteristics.
