I had 4 Supervisors reporting to me over 3 shifts. They were responsible for a total of of 300 Navaho employes with all of the responsibilities listed below under "Production Line Supervisor".Major Changes I was responsible for :•When I started working In Shiprock all of the line employees were women and men held the tech and mechanic positions. This was causing major social problems in the comunity and left us with a labor shortage. I set up a work relevant skill test by taking a part of the job cycle that many trainees were not mastering and tested Navaho men. I was able to show they were more skilled than the women on the average. Most of the work was done under a microscope with very small parts. Previously It was though that only women with small hand could do this work.• The plant started training the Techs and Mechanics to start replacing the previously all white college educated Supervisors. I was instrumental in training the Navaho supervisor and managing them on the production line.
