    My role required the governance of numerous water infrastructure projects within the Abigroup National Water Business unit portfolio, including the Hunter Treatment Alliance, Melbourne to Geelong Pipeline, Whitsunday Water Treatment Plants and CaSPA STP on the Gold Coast.Acting is the key interface between the business unit's corporate base in Brisbane and its staff allocated to projects across the eastern seaboard required regular visits to the projects listed above, as well as the Adelaide Desalination Project to liaise directly with staff to ensure they maintained contact with the business unit. I also provided a conduit for them to raise issues, promote individuals' managemenet of their own professional development, and provide support as needed to manage cross-business conflicts.In additonal, the role required a significant involvement in the pre-contracts area, with bid management and tender design management responsibilities for tender and EOI opportunities being pursued by the business. These bids also required detailed tender risk assessments, document and submission preparation and review, and significant input in the areas of constructability, construction risk assessment, and resource allocations.

    This role involved the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects, business development and tender management within the Water business of Reed.From November 2008 to early 2010 I was responsible for the project management of a $75 million water infrastructure project in North West Sydney (details below).From early 2010 until I left the Reed Group, my role changed and had to it a number of facets. One of these was to maintain a governance overview of the NWGC project, continuing to provide support to the Project Manager and her team in the timely and profitable completion of the project, and to continue senior level engagement with Client and Project Manager, whislt also managing some of the complex contactual matters which arose from the Project in conjunction with external conultants to ensure full commercial recovery was achieved.In addition to this requirement, I took responsibility within the Water business unit to seek out new business opportunities both from existing and new clients, and where opportunities were idenitifed to then manager the tender compilation and submission process to increase work in hand. Thjis role inviolved not only business development aspects, but also design management within the tender environment and liason with specialist or preferred subcontractors and suppliers to seek out competitive advantages for these submissions.
