Manage comprehensive fundraising program, public relations and public affairs, increasing financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other sources and creating a long-lasting culture of giving within the Gateway community.• Met or exceeded fundraising goals each year, bridging a $1 million+ annual gap in an overall budget of $7 million. • Created and launched the”Dream Big Campaign” in 2010 to provide funding to open and sustain Gateway Middle School which opened in 2011. To date, the campaign has raised over $750,000 for the middle school.• Cultivated a partnership with top local philanthropic leader, resulting in the largest grant ever received, $200,000.• Managed new visual branding, designing and production of innovative marketing materials; Oversaw the installation of a new online donor system; and managed launch of a new website, online newsletters, and innovative social media campaigns using Facebook and Constant Contact. Manage all media relationships for the schools.• Implemented and managed new programs to attract major donors, such as the Director Tours which involve inviting donors to meet with the Executive Director and take a personalized tour of campus.• Implemented a series of new annual programs celebrating the 10th anniversary of the school which included an Anniversary Dinner and Auction, Education Panel, Donor Appreciation Event, and Alumni BBQ and Basketball, the first effort to target alumni. • Advocated for Board support of additional staff and recruited, hired, trained, and manage the Development Manager and Communications Manager.

As the owner of McGovern Consulting our team consulted with nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area and Washington DC. We offered event planning ideas, board management and assistance with strategic planning for nonprofits engaged in helping others in our community. Donor relations was a key focus and as the Northern California Regional Fundraiser I worked with the prestigious National Partnership for Women and Families out of Washington DC to assist west coast donors with their philanthropic goals.

Florence Crittenton Services served young unwed teen mothers and their babies in a nurturing home environment in San Francisco's western addition. Working with the City and private donors we raised needed funds to offer the needed programs to not only serve this at risk population but to support their school work and mental health challenges so they would be self sufficient mothers after leaving FCS.
