    This position was in Boise, and I managed the development of disk storage systems. I have typically managed three to five project managers, and thirty to fifty engineers. I have been a principal contributor to several five-year business plans, and have worked closely with marketing to initiate our entry into new markets and sales channels. I have managed the R&D Lab targeting and expense forecasting. I have directed several research programs with the HP Laboratories in Palo Alto. I have managed a wide range of projects, employing many different technologies such as optical disk interfaces, specialized intelligent controllers (NV-cache, adaptive algorithms), custom electronics, mechanical systems, software (both OS driver level and applications level), complex real-time firmware, and the development of numerous ASICs.
