The systems development team is responsible for developing systems related software at Framestore. We look after the scheduling software that manages jobs on the Framestore render farm and a host of utilities for managing data and software, monitoring systems and providing information to our users.Among various projects I've been spending time working on tools for checking and testing our NFS services, which form the core of the network storage at Framestore. Providing a responsive service for a large number of interactive users while handling demands from potentially thousands of render farm CPU cores is not an easy task. Storage is a one of the major IT concerns at Framestore.
