    I previously worked as a Senior Research Associate at Exact Sciences in the Product Integration team, where I have been promoted due to my exceptional performance and ability to adapt and learn quickly. I have been responsible for conducting experiments and developing assays for the early detection of cancer using methylated DNA. This includes enzyme quality control, sample preparation, and utilizing NGS techniques with Illumina instruments. In this diverse role, I have worked on various projects and collaborated closely with both the protein and chemistry teams, where we have successfully integrated an in-house enzyme into our assay. Furthermore, to this achievement, my work and results has been included in the Invention Disclosure Form for our in-house enzyme. Additionally, I have gained experience in developing a laboratory information management system (LIMS) to track inventory and assist lab users with an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and workflows. I have also worked with automated robots, such as the Hamilton Microlab STAR and Microlab Prep, contributing to method development and troubleshooting efforts.

    Worked as a lab technician in a mobile lab for the Department of Health and Social Care, testing Covid-19 samples. I am performing RNA extraction and (loop-mediated isothermal amplification) LAMP of samples. Conducting analysis of samples with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Gridion using Oxford Nanopore’s rapid sample preparation chemistry, releasing results of successful analysis. Tracking samples using LIMS system, which includes the receipt of samples, releasing results and repeating invalids. Working effectively in a small team in an aseptic environment, which has been displayed in the work and results.

    I completed a 6 months placement at the University of Sydney. Conducted a project on supramolecular chemistry and anion transporters under the supervision of Professor Philip Gale. I researched on anion transporters and its effect on genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis and cancer, which immensely improved my knowledge on the importance on biological mechanisms in the human body. Performed several analytical and transports studies on the synthetic anion transporters with cell membrane transport assays in order to test and optimised the novel transporters, this has led to an improvement on my data analysis skills. I recorded each analysis test result diligently and interpreted data in a systematic approach, paying attention to the details. I presented the research and data, where I was able to explain the scientific concepts and ideas concisely and clearly to an audience.
