Acting Editing Supervisor, Senior Editor which often included being part of the introduction of new technologies from video tape liner, shotlister off-line/on-line videotape, Heavyworks non-linear video & digital off-line/on-line to FCP and Quantel fully digital broadcast systems. The editor and part of the team responsible for the broadcast of SBS’s first non-linear, digital story.     As Archive Co-ordinator, I was charged with setting up, organising and overseeing SBS’s highly complex and overdue archiving obligations and needs for SBS's programme library collection of over 55,000 assets.This involved managing a team including staff training, rostering, transfer bookings, erasures, digital transfers of many formats and trouble shooting, such as missing items which required diligent attention to detail for the successful transfer of archived program material from analogue to digital tape formats.The project required closely working with SBS’s library and technical staff, especially in being able to quickly define problems thus restoring services and configuring facilities to meet special transfers.Project management required good communication and negotiation skills, working through the material with SBS’s departments such as Network Programming, Program sales, Promotions, Purchase Programs, Production, TV Operations, News & Current Affairs, Sport and outside interests for program material with Screensound Australian, the National Archive, in order to determine future archive and broadcast requirements. The ability to supervise and organise a team of operators and liaise with other interested parties in identifying needs, was essential to ensure the success of the project.
