    A long held interest in energy conservation and materials and technologies that support it has led to my involvement in the marketing, distribution and application of an amazing product called Thermoshield. It is a thermal insulator that comes in a liquid form that is applied by a spray gun, brush or roller. It bonds to a surface and remains as a membrane protecting the surface from the sun.The product in based on nano-technology principles in that it contains a high concentration of hollow microscopic vacuumed ceramic beads. These beads create dead air space between the outside and the surface being insulated. The coating acts like a double glazed window in that the multi-layers of vacuum beads prevent infra red heat access. The properties of the beads also result in high infrared emittance that re-radiates absorbed heat thus lowering the surface maximum temperature. This characteristic plus the very high solar reflectance of the membrane results in amazing insulation and dramatic reductions in cooling costs. Average results are summarized below:* Reduce internal temperature by up to 45% * Reduce cooling costs by up to 40% * Reduce UV penetration by up to 96% * Reduce cooling equipment workloadThermoshield also has properties that convert light rust to iron phosphate and inhibit further rusting. Its uses are are unlimited in any applications that require thermal insulation or corrosion protection. It is being used successfully on residential roofs, warehouses, wheat silos, chemical storage, fuel tanks, wine storage etc. Any surface that needs protection from the sun or corrosive substances.I am currently concentrating on industrial sites and government infrastructure in Queensland and Northern Territory. The service includes consultation, strategy development, labour hire, application, evaluation and subsequent performance monitoring.
