Initiated the drafting and finalisation of Extension Technical Guides (coordinated layout and publication of the guides etc) and preparation of VSLA monitoring tool. ii. As the Agronomist Extension Service Expert provided a range of support from Management understanding of the programmes, Monitoring of progress, Support ROM mission. conduct technical training for partner and government staff and provided direct extension support to farmers in the field.

    As the National Food Income and Market Coordinator, I took over the responsibility of managing three large EU funded projects of over $7m budget, I was responsible for formulating three of the projects, ensure timely and quality implementation, generating quality reports. My role also include interacting with national and government functionaries. I initiated at national level an International NGO Forum on Livelihood and Nutrition Security. I served as the coordinator of this forum many times.This forum brought together donor community such as the EU, GTZand DFID on the one hand and Ministry of Agriculture, UN agencies (FAO and WFP) and all international NGOs implementing food security and livelihood projects including COOPI, OXFAM, Concern, IRC, World Vision, ACF, ACDI/VOCA and many more we had including private sector participation from time to time. The project also had a big element of Social Protection and national level advocacy component. A very well integrated projects which also had technical backstopping from Natural Resources Institute of the University of Greenwich UK.

A substantial part of the project included building capacity of women and youths in livelihood strategies including business skills, vocational skills and support to Government of Sierra Leone

    As the manager of EFA country programme in Liberia I steered the process of identifying the real needs of target community groups (including Refugees, Returnees, Host communities and Internally Displaced People) and worked with them to initiate, plan, implement and monitor community-based environmental schemes, sustainable agriculture and livelihood schemes with mostly with UNHCR funding and additional funding from IUCN and Conservation International. As the majority of the communities supported were farming communities, designed an Agricultural Extension tool which, incorporates Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Agro Forestry, small ruminant livestock raising as alternative to poaching and hunting; and all training conducted for farming groups had the Disaster Risk Reduction and HIV/AIDs awareness component. A substantial part of my role involved networking with Government Officials, UNHCR and her implementing partners. I also provided technical support to other EFA country programmes in Sierra Leone and The Gambia.

With programmes funded by UNCHR, Conservation International and IUCN and in collaboration with Njala University Sierra Leone, I supervised and monitored projects aimed at raising environmental protection awareness and sustainable agricultural practices of refugees, returnees and host communities working with government ministry of agriculture, agriculture Extension staff to design appropriate farm production techniques which incorporated integrated pest management, tree nursery establishment and domestic energy conservation. In this role I oversee the management of the Tiwai Wildlife Conservation Sanctuary which is a part of the National Gola Forest. I also supported farmers by providing technical crop production/ protection techniques and agro forestry Extension support on Cocoa, Kola and Coffee in Kailahun, Kono, Kenema and Bo Districts.
