Social Ark is an Award winning charity that empowers young people from under-resourced communities to develop social businesses- guided by their own lived experiences. We also run youth engagement programs enabling school-age children to take part in meaningful social action. We provide a standout programme of workshops, mentoring and personalised support that enables the young people we work with to focus on their assets and talents. In this way, they build on their goals, creating a springboard of positive action that results in sustainable change. We’ve created the Social Ark Family which consists of our supporters and young people that have been through our programmes. They sit on our board as trustees and along with our youth steering group they shape and steer our work. The Social Ark core and senior management team is made up of our alumni and people from our own community. Our alumni co-design our programmes and often co-facilitate them too, and they're always respectfully paid as the lived experience experts they are.

During my career at Flying Horse indigo goods I took charge of multiple roles within the company. Through the first 7 months I started as a shop consultant for the brand, this required in-depth knowledge of the brand's history, the intricate dying processing of our indigo and special client personal gifting for PR and Social media. This allowed myself to gain critical interpersonal skills, Multitasking and key leadership development skills. This was vital to my role at FH as investors, Buyers and creative from the music and film industry would regularly visit our shop and downstairs studio. During busy time’s I would offer to act on runner errands, which entailed myself to send special product gifting to fashion publications. After seven months I was promoted to take charge for the filming and photographing of our first unsigned music events. This new challenge was an opportunity, which I nourished as I come from a film & television and creative industry background. For our first show in association with Sharps brewery, I directed, filmed, photographed and co-edited the event for our YouTube and brand social pages. Events such as this helped attract more online following and word of mouth for up and coming musicians. During the final months of my time with the company I was promoted to run E-commerce for the brand. Setting up the base platform i.e. shopify, sage-pay and I-Merchant. Also directing our trading and organizing photo shoots, location, outfit piecing and photographer. Using this I found new ways to visually communicate to our target market that stood out from an ever-growing industry.
