Supervise 9 staff members of the Hematology malignancy/BMT team directly including planning and coordinating daily or weekly research activities of the team, training research staff, and monitoring and evaluating staff performance. Participate in the interviewing and hiring of new staff for the Clinical Research Office. Collaborate with Cancer Center and UMMS nurse managers, lab managers, and clinic staff members to develop course of daily research activities including research patient flow in the clinic, procurement of research specific labs, and timely implementation of protocol treatment to research patients.Evaluate results of different processes in the research office and clinic and adjust methods accordingly. Work with management to develop, recommend and implement policies and procedures and/or methods for clinical research.Ensure that staff is compliant with quality control, security, and safety procedures.Manage staff to ensure that protocols are conducted according to federal and FDA regulations and Good Clinical Practices (GCP). Supervise, train, and evaluate professional, research, clinic, and/or clerical staff. Oversee record keeping, data collection, management, and analysis. Prepare and present team reports, protocol data to different entities.Coordinate and assist in training programs for professionals, clinic and nursing staff.Resolve issues and problems in the Hematology malignancy/BMT team.Mitigate personnel conflicts and conduct individual performance improvement plans as needed.Implement clinical research protocols and manage research patients’ proficiently.
