I have been a freelance illustrator/artist/animator since 2006 (full-time since 2009). I create lots of work for the childrens' educational market. I work for a wide array of nationally recognized clients, including Pearson Education, NPR, Highlights for Children magazine, The Core Knowledge Foundation, and Peculiar Pages. While my primary market has been childrens' media, I also create graphic novels, art installations, and puppet films. My skills run the gamut from physical set construction to digital creation. I work with traditional 2-dimensional illustration as well as animation (stop-motion, puppetry, digital, and animated gifs).

I worked as a studio assistant to artist Jonathan Bouknight, assisting him as he prepared a show for the Museum of Contemporary Art (GA). The project included a feature length film, creating molds and casts, building preparing canvases, graphic design, and stencil creation. It was an exciting and always-changing set of tasks, and I enjoyed applying my wide range of skills to these activities.

I worked as an intern with the Center for Puppetry Arts, offering my skills in character design, painting, building, and construction. I learned a lot about casting, adhesives, joints, and sewing. A great experience that led to several film projects and art exhibitions.
