It is a privately owned family company.Achievementsinitiated internal control processes and reviewed systems to improve accuracy of accounting information and correct identification of outstanding debtors. This included basic account reconciliations performed monthly.Worked closely with accounting profession al services staff to ensure that the group achieved accurate financial accounts. This involved making high level judgements regarding balance sheet items.Introduced monthly reporting regime produced in-house. This was previously prepared by external accountants on a quarterly basis. This initiative has saved the group $300k in fees annually.Recovered $2.3m, in unclaimed import GST from IRD.

The project was completed with minimal disruption, on time and on budget.Continuous improvements to the reporting systems have enhanced efficiencies with data entry. Sales Rep budgets are now uploaded from Excel in two hours, saving 4 operators 5 days of data entry.Improved timeliness of the monthly reporting package by 14 days. Introduced summary KPI reports for the Board, and reduced the volume of detailed content in Board package replacing with easy to read summaries.Actively assisted in due diligence for major acquisition. Completed financial appraisal in limited timeframe. Negotiated an interim financing solution until full financing facilities were agreed with company bankers.Participated in the development and implementation of a new health & safety management system.
