As many of you know, 2016 has been a rough year for me and my family. But at the end of every storm, there will come sunshine. Early this year I left my position as an Executive VP/ CFO to tend to family needs- most specifically, to work with my brother on the care of my father. We lost my father in June of this year. Through all of the tragedy this year has brought, I have gained one very important thing- PERSPECTIVE. I have taken some time off and spent much time soul searching and decided that sitting in a high pressure position, behind a desk, crunching numbers, managing staff etc, although it comes with a nice paycheck, isn’t what I find rewarding now, nor will I 40 years from now when I look back from my wheelchair. So, I have decided to make a pretty big move for me. I want to interact with people going through change and help people find a satisfying place to spend their days. Thus, drawing on my background, I have finally found a way to use those skills in an area that I hope to be successful. As of yesterday, I have joined long time business associates/ friends Kevin Cole and Randy Welsh with Referral Staffing. I will be a “matchmaker” between administrative, all facets of accounting, finance, HR professionals and organizations seeking talent. I am SOOOO very excited with this decision and energized to explore something new with a great team of people. Receiving stellar performance evaluations and have made noted progress in the cleanup effort, training of staff, have substantially shortened the financial reporting cycle, improved days outstanding and cashflow, renegotiated favorable vendor terms and am well into the system development/ migration effort. Eventually agreed to return full time as Exec VP and CFO.

Operated as the key financial and accounting professional for an $11 million, DC based, not-for-profit focused on providing social services to families. Responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting. Worked directly with the CEO, Board of Directors and Finance Committee and managed a team of 4-7 staff.
