I create flexible workshop plans that consider the Jammers (young people with disabilities) in the workshop, what their needs, abilities and preferences are. To encourage Jammers to participate and be engaged with the activities, I commit to upholding a positive workshop environment where Jammers and volunteers felt safe, and respected and can be themselves while having fun.

As a cashier, I was continuously communicating with customers about their purchases, their in-store experiences and their concerns. I also had the opportunity to move around different departments of Mitre 10 to support restocking shelves, customer assistance and tidying aisles. The team support at Mitre 10 was outstanding and made me feel comfortable, respected and welcome within their workplace environment.

GirlBoss Edge Scholarship Recipient

Jul 2020 - Jul 2020
GirlBoss Edge: Primary Industries Edition is a highly selective leadership accelerator programme for high school aged young women.Through this 10 day programme, I underwent high-level leadership training and received transformative mentoring from New Zealand's leading primary industry professionals. I worked in collaboration with the Ministry for Primary Industries to solve real world problems through the 'MPI Challenge'. Through this incredible, life-changing, experience I have been motivated and energised to create change and innovate in the primary sector. Some incredible women that I was privileged to listen to were; Stacey Mareroa - an inspirational speaker, Mele Tabukovu - climate analyst working with the government, Emma Poole - FMG Young Farmer prizewinner and vet. From their life stories and career journeys, I learnt that I needed to be confident in myself, in my passions and to stay true to my values when finding the career I desire. They inspired me to keep learning about my capabilities and strive to achieve more.Link to learn more:
