    As a resource consents planner I assess the application against the Waitakere District plan as well as the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan and make recommendations on the proposal. As part of my Planner role I also have the role of Duty Planner on the planning help desk hot line. This is available for the public to call and speak with a planner to gain planning advice on an issue. Being part of the Auckland Council Resource Consents planning team, I use a number of plans when preforming my assessments of an application due to the formation of the Super Council. Due to the significance of the Waitakere Ranges, environmental effects are assessed with great importance.

    This role has seen me manage the procurement process for residential sustainability programmes. The procurements currently being worked on seek suppliers to supply and install sustainable interventions into Auckland's housing stock enabling the housing stock to be more sustainable, warmer and healthier for the residents. I particularly enjoy the challenge of learning this new process and being able to implement my project management skills into coordinating the different procurements and requirements for each of the procurements.

    This position saw me being the accounts manager for two insurance brokers, one of which being the very busy Regional Manager. This role was busy with me looking after the insurance policies of both commercial and personal clients for the brokers. These tasks would be things such as ensuring the level of cover was adequate, the renewals where up to date, edits where made, policies where put in place and policies cancelled on time. Often I would also meet with prospective clients to organise doing quotes for their policies. This role required good levels of communication with clients and constant communication with brokers and the insurance underwriters.
