Mid-2013 I left my job at Nedbank to focus on running SQuattanet Corp where I had changed the business’s service offering to that of assisting SMME’s with their marketing strategies. I realised that I needed more experience in this field so I worked in the marketing department at REDISA for a number of years while managing SQuattanet Corp part-time (consulting on weekends). I went back to running SQuattanet Corp full-time and employed all the knowledge and skills gained from the corporate environment. Started a solo project, named my company SQuattanet Corp, where I offered an Online Reputation Management (ORM) service with a marketing and PR focus. At the end of 2012 I merged my company with that of my friend’s from varsity and we named the new partnership Siviidya. We offered a wider range of online services including website design, hosting and our biggest service was our ISP division. We got a contract with one of the residence from UCT where we offered the students affordable WiFi access via an ADSL line.

Towards the end of the year 2012 I was approached by a friend from varsity who needed me to help him with setting up a renewable energy company. I came on board as a Marking Director then named the company Inyanda Energy Group (IEG) and registered it as a Private Company (PTY) Ltd. We were not really as active as we would have liked to have been in the beginning as we were a start-up. We worked on the project on part-time basis since we were all still employed too. I also registered SQuattanet Corp at the end of this year as a (PTY) Ltd.
