    I worked part time at Mind Australia's Bayside Community Services (Albert Park) in the PHaMs Program (Personal Helpers and Mentors) providing community based support for a group of allocated individuals who identify as having a mental health issue. I have also periodically made myself available for casual shifts at Mind's residential facilities and previously worked as a support worker in the Intensive Home Based Outreach Service. I was the first Mind Australia employee to assume an intensive outreach support role and then a case management role in respect of a TAC referred individual after which a number of other clients were referred. Whilst at Mind Australia l established a local area Indigenous portfolio that l managed for five years.

    Approached by the CEO, l was initially engaged a day each week for some 9 months to review & then redesign the operational platform in respect of a transitional support program targeting adults involved in the adult prison system. Twelve months later l was similarly engagd to undertake a desk top review of all funded operational programs.

    Initially employed as a Social worker in Victorian Prisons, I then became a Probation and Parole Officer in St Kilda. I managed a number of Community Correctional Services locations (Prahran, Carlton, Footscray, Dandenong and Broadmeadows) before becoming the General Manager of the then North West Region. Whilst in community corrections, I then became the General Manager of Operations, the General Manager of the CCS Redevelopment Program, the Secretary / Executive Officer of the Adult Parole Board and acted as the Director of Community Correctional Services on a number of occasions for periods of up to 4 months.I subsequently assumed senior management responsibility for a number of operational and functional units relevant to both Prisons and Community Correctional Services, including Corrections Victoria's Indigenous Policy and Services Unit, Wulgunngo Ngalu Learning Centre (a residential diversion program for Indigenous men), the Judy Lazarus Transitional Centre (Victoria's first and only Transition Centre for male prisoners in the latter part of their sentences), the then Home Detention Program, the Transitional Services Unit and finally Corrections Victoria's Reintegration Program. I also had the opportunity to act as the General Manager (Governor) of Victoria's Women's Prison Region on two occasions.I loved my work with Corrections Victoria and believe that I was regarded highly within the workplace and by external stakeholders.
