Shenise has 10 plus years of experience in the field of social work. Ms. Henderson now practices as a clinician with a focus on providing trauma informed care. Her clinical work has centered around the treatment of substance abuse disorders, mood disorders, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders such as PTSD. Profound traumatic experience is the common denominator amongst all of these conditions. Nearly 95% of all of the clients Ms. Henderson has serviced - including children - have experienced horrific traumatic events in their lives. Many of these clients exhibited symptoms and behaviors that often debilitated their lives, most centering around the inability to manage emotion in a safe and effective way. In order to provide her clients with the best care, Ms. Henderson underwent extensive training in traumatic experience and the neurobiology of trauma. Trauma has a devastating effect on areas of the brain responsible for the regulation of emotion, memory, the ability to learn and to focus. Knowing this, it became clear that talk therapy alone may not be sufficient in helping clients cope with such horrific experiences. Seeing the need for more creative therapeutic approaches, Ms. Henderson developed her own essential oil blends. These blends become an indispensable tool in her “clinical toolbox.” For thousands of years people of the ancient world recognized the healing properties of essential oils created in God's earth. The word of God even confirms this in scripture Isaiah 61:3; To appoint to them that MOURN in Zion, to give them beauty for Ashes, the OIL if JOY for MOURNING.... Any of the blends can be used externally for aromatherapy massage, daily application, simple inhalation, compress or during bath time. The aromas will trigger your olfactory sense (smell) which will positively affect the body both physically and psychologically. All formulas promote healthy regulation of emotion.
