    On an everyday basis, I assisted with Quality Assurance/Quality Control laboratory tests for Midland's manufactured emulsion products. My experience also included assisting in maintaining the laboratory's AMRL accreditation during these tests. During my experience, I volunteered to join the CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) Task Force where I was challenged to employ acquired lean principles. My duties on the task force included value stream mapping of Midland's road improvement process and conducting a root cause analysis to identify and reduce bottlenecks.

    I began my research internship studying the nature of domain walls in ferromagnetic materials in materials science. I assisted with conducted Barkhausen and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer measurements and compared results with domain wall motion when subjected to a magnetic field. My research experience also included the fabrication of nickel and cobalt nanowires. I gained valuable experience including laboratory safety, strong R & D practices and techniques, along with strong oral and written communication as I was tasked to present my work to different audiences.
