    Led ground-up development of Northern California Telemedicine Network. Broad scope of accountability included program planning and implementation, grant writing and administration, network infrastructure and growth, equipment and vendor selection, program coordination and scheduling, patient and practitioner satisfaction, and data assessment and reporting. Developed and managed a $1.4 million budget. Coordinated and chaired NCTN Operations Team Committee meetings as a forum to discuss issues, brainstorm solutions, and review current trends in telemedicine. Selected Achievements: • Obtained $1.4 million in grant funding from federal government and California foundations to use technology to increase access and improve delivery of health care services for patients and providers in rural medically underserved areas of northern California. • Strategically developed network of 11 rural spoke clinics; recruited and screened clinics to insure viability / commitment was adequate for implementation of telemedicine program – a major undertaking for rural clinics. • Led successful implementation of 16 specialty telemedicine clinics; increased access for 4,000+ low-income rural residents to specialty medical services, and achieved a 97% satisfaction rating from program participants. • Improved patient’s access to health information and behavior change strategies through implementation of Health Education distance learning classes; achieved satisfaction scores of 95% from program participants. • Introduced Continuing Medical Education (CME) distance learning programs that reached over 500 rural practitioners and fostered satisfactions scores of 98%.• Created, tested, and launched valuable survey instrument that effectively measured rural patient satisfaction levels with specialty medicine consults and Health Education distance learning classes.

Performed ongoing evaluations to ensure programs adhered to company’s goals, objectives, and policies. Selected Achievements:• Established and chaired BHE Advisory Committee to strategically plan direction for program expansion and develop strategies to market programs to providers, members and community; garnered buy-in for program from Psychiatry and Primary Care providers, which resulted in increased patient referrals to BHE classes.• Strategically planned, developed, marketed, and launched 13 Behavioral Health Education programs in 12 months, which resulted in integrated prevention / wellness into patients’ medical care, improved patients’ health outcomes, increased member and provider satisfaction, and reduced long-term therapeutic costs.

Selected Achievements:• Awarded $150,000 grant for “CPR in OUR SCHOOLS” program; won over State Department of Education to fund program after initial decline; collaborated with UCSF’s Office of Government Relations for political positioning, rallied program support from 24 school districts that prepared letters of support for, and presented speeches to, the grant committee. Wrote curriculum and trained 700 teachers in program implementation.• Spearheaded university’s first Emergency Medicine Technician (EMT 1-A) program; recruited and screened students, conducted Student Orientation and Field Preceptor workshops, supervised 40-hr field internship, and tracked workforce placement – 80% of students obtained full-time EMT positions upon program completion.
