    Campus Sherpa is a startup that connects prospective high school students with current college students for a personalized, individual campus tour. I joined the team on the marketing side and managed a small marketing team whose jurisdiction included: social media, international relations, and partnerships. I spent last spring working as the head recruiter: finding, interviewing, and hiring new Sherpas (campus tour guides). This summer I joined the operations team: planning and coordinating tours, and this fall I am working on reorganizing our finances to grow profitability.

I was able to bring a new perspective to the table because of my age and comfort working with technology. In addition, I was given the opportunity to work with clients to draft and later voice their radio advertisements.

    I was a cave tour guide for three summers. Besides guiding tours, I managed the cash register, and opened/closed the cave. This job was unique in that it taught me how to be comfortable with public speaking particularly on topics that I had no prior knowledge of. As a tour guide I had to be quick on my feet while maintaining a good image as I represented the company.

    I volunteered as a jury person in misdemeanor cases of minors. In these cases, the defendant would plead guilty, the facts would be presented by the prosecutor, and the jury would decide the sentence. When the convicted completes their given sentence, their misdemeanor is removed from their record. I enjoyed learning about the legal system, while allowing minors to clean up their records and learn from their mistakes.
