My project at ITU, targets the development and evaluation of interaction technology for wearable computers and public displays with a focus on acute and surgical environments inside hospitals. The specific focus of research will be mixed-reality session establishment (activities typically involve a range of real-world objects, interactive devices, and digital information), multimodal interaction, and context-sensitive user interface adaptation (automatic choice of device and interaction modality) based on the situation. A wearable system prototype that provides activity support both at an individual level and in collaborative settings will be designed and evaluated together with hospital partners.
