As the mainframe System Development Manager of a team of 15 programmer analysts, re-engineered legacy systems and developed and successfully implemented a major client-server 401K Plan Processing system. This three-tier system replaced a legacy system that had an IBM mainframe as the back-end server, a DEC alpha front-end server, and PC workstation with VRS clients. The mainframe part of the system involved DB2, CICS and COBOL II using a table driven architecture based on a product called SNAPPI. The middle tier used a Sybase SQL Server database. The client workstation application was written in C++. The new system provides Pension Plan processing services both on-line and via telephone. Services included Employer and Employee Contributions, Fund Transfers, Loan and Loan Repayments, Payouts (Cash Distributions), and Dividends.• System Design and presentations• DB2 Database Design• Responsible for project management, analysis, design, testing and implementation of internal projects• Maintain project plans • Developed release documentation• Work with Senior Management to determine levels of effort and project tasks

Contract PositionWorked on the Financial Data Conversion Project. This system was developed to compare and convert financial data from a mainframe trade dated system running at a subsidiary of BTNY in Scotland, to newly developed Multi-Currency Accounting and Reporting system (MARS) in New York. The following were the salient features of this system: • Converted data files from ICL to IBM acceptable formats. • Developed an automated Reconciliation process between two old systems, one being a settlement date based system and the other being a trade date based system. The data processed at month end for each account was Trade Dated Stock positions, Trade Dated Currency amounts, Cash/Stock Dividend amounts, Fixed Income accruals, and Tax Reclaim amounts. • Generated necessary accounting transactions to establish each account’s day one positions and releasing any subsequent activity to bring the positions up-to-date in the new system, MARS. • The system was developed using DB2, COBOL II, MF-COBOL, CICS, XDB.MS Access
