    I took on the role of sports editor for the duration of the Future News 2014 project. The programme was intended to equip young, aspiring journalists with the practical experience of working in an active newsroom during the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.My duties included providing the sports department with editorial direction, allocating assignments, setting up and filming interviews, sub-editing copy and liaising with other department heads and the managing editor twice a day. I also implemented the use of a live Google Doc spreadsheet which allowed reporters to sign-up to cover scheduled sporting events well in advance.
