    • DESIGNER, PROVIDENCE POINT
      • 1999 - 2003

Retained as Conceptual and Interior Designer. the objective of this extensive project was to create an estate on a private ten acre island, that would closely replicate an 18th century American Colonial home which evolved to its present form over a period of centuries. My responsibilities included actual plans for the house, drawn in collaboration with a registered draftsman for their copy and stamp for construction. Creation of precisely duplicated colonial rooms inspired by existing 18th century American and British buildings. Careful research of estate grounds to design appropriate concepts for motor court entry, gate house, garden and tennis court. I worked with a team of over thirty craftsmen on site, directly with the chief builder and site manager, answering and coordinating all aspects of design. Three years were spent collecting furnishings and artwork of appropriate scale to furnish the residence. Two years were spent in extensive decorative painting with five apprentices. Faux finishes were incorporated throughout the entire residence, including a fully grained library. The result was a dramatic as well as comfortable home, featured in SAVANNAH MAGAZINE 2008, Spring Home Issue.
