I work as a blended Controller for the Global Mobility Services (GMS) group for major Detroit and US based clients. We have a US tax team and international tax team specializing in tax returns, TEQ's and Hypo taxes for expatriates and US inbound assignees for our clients who send employees on international long term, short term, temporary assignments as well as localizations. I work with these groups and interface with clients and their employees as the Global Engagement Coordinator/Controller to ensure global tax returns are on time and within our budget. Through multiple reporting techniques, burn rates and internal controls, I am responsible for reporting ongoing progress to our clients.I interface with our clients and their employees daily to field questions or concerns and handle Tax Authority Notices for these individuals to help minimize any unnecessary penalty and interest payments.I have implemented cost saving procedures by transitioning projects and administrative procedures to off-shore assistance and have created many detailed step-by-step instruction manuals for these off-shore teams while supervising their results. I have experience with taking raw excel data and transforming that into client presentations. I am responsible for ensuring our Key Performance Indicators listed in our client contracts are met and monitor our progress monthly. I create a mid-year and year-end report detailing how each country performed within these KPI’s throughout the year.I speak directly with the heads of our clients to discuss procedure improvements and cost saving techniques to help ensure renewed contracts.Prior to this Tax Technician position, I was an Engagement Management Coordinator for over 10 years responsible for the financial well being of over 150 tax projects for the following tax groups: Federal Tax, International Tax, Economic and Valuations Services tax group and the GMS tax group.
