After working as a staff geologist at the Division of Geological Survey, Subsurface Section, I became part of the new Underground Injection Control (UIC) Section at the Division of Oil and Gas. After a year as a staff geologist, I became the Coordinator of the Section and was responsible for developing the first set of regulations for Class II and III UIC wells and worked with the Attorney General's office on developing enabling legislation for the program. Ohio was the first state to submit and receive primacy for the UIC program in Region V of the U.S. EPA.
