    Fletcher Easysteel distributes steel within New Zealand. Based within the head office in Auckland, Fletcher Easysteel had turnover of approximately NZ$100m - NZ$150m, and profit of approximately NZ$10m - NZ$15m, with over 200 staff. Created a financial model to analyse key material and labour variances against standard cost, worked alongside IT to access the information required to perform the analysis. This information was sourced from the ERP system within the Steel Group.Improved financial understanding of cost variances amongst key managers, by discussing with Production Managers and Production Planners how work flow affected the cost of the final product. Created a financial model, which clearly communicates to production staff the affects of extra material usage, wastage, and increased job completion time. This clearly showed the managers which areas they could improve within their business.

The Laminex Group Taupo site had an annual operating budget of between NZ$60m- NZ$70m, employing approximately 100 employees.Improved management's understanding of key cost variances by explaining how the profit and loss worked and also how the accounting systems worked within The Laminex Group. This required good communication skills and also an understanding of the financial system.Worked with the Engineering team to identify areas where they were exceeding budget and how they could achieve budget on a monthly basis.Communicated with the Engineering teams on a monthly basis where they spent their monthly expenditure. This required good analysis skills in order to identify key items of expenditure and then provide this information in an easy to understand format.
