Scorebeyond is an EdTech start-up that uses learning science, data, and online tutoring to prepare students for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. As students complete in-app practice questions, subsequent practice is tailored to their level so they can find the “just right” level of difficulty. Students regularly meet with their tutors, who help them understand strategy, build stamina, and increase their test-taking confidence. Acquired by LinkedIn in 2018. As Director, I developed the tutor-facing dashboard for Scorebeyond's data-driven tutoring approach and coordinated management of tutors, standardization of tutoring sessions, and creation of materials; I also leveraged our partners, the Bjork Lab at UCLA and Lasting Learning, to develop and implement a 10-module onboarding/training process on research-based learning pedagogy for use by tutors.

Director of Client Services
-
Jan 2015 - Mar 2017
I worked alongside my team to provide high-level support to new and returning clients as well as to the company's leadership team, helping over 2000 clients. My primary responsibility was to counsel prospective tutoring clients on programs, match students with tutors, and serve as an ongoing client resource. I also coordinated logistics with the leadership team to ensure coverage in 11 offices and supported tutors with necessary student information and materials. As the first contact point for the client and ongoing liaison between the client and tutor, I helped to establish trust and set expectations while best positioning the tutor for an efficient preparation.

Dec 2013 - Jun 2015
I created and executed academic plans for each of my 20 high school students, outlining their academic needs and solutions/interventions to achieve specific goals (improve fluency, raise grade, understand lab assignments). During regular weekly sessions, I assessed progress and understanding, taught and reviewed current content, demonstrated concept synthesis and application, and primed students for upcoming lessons and test preparation.
