The annual revenue was ~USD 100 million and the plant employed ~600 employees.     Managed the daily production of 30 tons of Nylon-6 tyre cord yarn, grey fabric and dipped fabric by overseeing the Spinning, Textile and Dipping departments of the manufacturing facility. There were 500 employees under my supervision and with them our operations were able to achieve industry benchmarks in different operational parameters within a very short span of time. My involvement in this facility was from construction stage (in coordination with technical know-how suppliers) to erection, commissioning and commercial production of the plant. This included handling of all aspects of technology appraisals, techno-commercial analysis, technology selection, machine balancing, layout planning and utility requirements. Key Achievements:- Increased production in Spinning, Textile and Dipping by 25%, 80% and 10% respectively through a combination of improvement in systems, productivity and optimizing the product mix.- Reduction in waste in Spinning from 10% to 1.7% - Reduction in energy consumption Technologies:- Conversion of polymer chips to technical yarn using spindraw process on Reiter Spin draw machines with Zimmer engineering- Conversion of technical yarn to technical cord using Direct Cable Corder from SaurerAllma and Toray Technology- Weaving of technical cord to grey fabric of Nylon-6 and polyester on Draper and Dornier air jet looms- Dipping of grey fabric using Utica Converters from Litzler, USA

    Managed the Spinning department, which produced Nylon-6 technical yarn using a spindraw process, engineering by Toray Technology (Japan). My involvement in this manufacturing facility was from construction to active production stage. This included manufacturing process development, technology and machine selection, installation of equipment, manufacturing of yarn samples and approval of yarn samples by CEAT customers.
